My fall TO-DO list!

Hey Blogger-ville!

It's been a bit of a crazy week. And it's only Tuesday.

I've found that blogging is a de-stresser so.... here I am.
Gotta get rid of some anxiety.

And also be productive(in some sort, haha) at the same time!

So, here is my to-do list!

Caitlyn's Fall To-Do List

1. Buy new clothes.
-I've lost some weight since last year, soooooo a lot of my clothes don't fit.
Seriously, I put on a pair of dress pants the other day and I looked like MC Hammer.
Fun times.

2. Pay for graduation.
-Ha, I need to do this soon. Before December. Mental note.
WHOOO-HOOOO!
I'm a college senior. I graduate this year.
Craaaaaaaazy.

3.Find the perfect outfit for The Egg Bowl.
-I know this will never happen. It just makes me feel better knowing I've thought about it. But seriously. I'll look a hot-mess by the time I get there so what does it matter?
Brainstorming:

(all looks can be found at: When I get skinny.)

4. Find more Crock-Pot recipes.
-So, I've pretty much mastered this one CP dish. And, if I must say so, it's pretty darn delish. It's an Italian Chicken recipe. 5 ingredients. No prep. And sooooooo good.
I just need more recipes to add variety to my life. It's getting a bit monotonous.
The food aspect is, at least.
 Recipe: here!

5. Plan Spring Break.
-I know, I know. It like, 6 months away. But, if I don't start early, I will freak out.
So, Lauren and I are planning on going to D.C. but we will see how that works it's self out during the next 6 months. :)

6. Take fun pictures.
-I really want to do something to remember this time in my life. Mama, I want to do our family pictures this year somewhere where the leave have all fallen and they are red and yellow. Right before sunset.
Pretty.

7. Read a book outside.
-It's just lovely outside right now. And I hope it will stay this way for a little while. And I'd love to find a spot that I can go and enjoy the changing seasons.

8. Survive SCHOOL.
-I am so sick of it all. I can't even talk about it any more.

9. Find that PERFECT fall nail color.
-Girls, you all know what I mean. The one that just screams "IT'S FALL, Y'ALL!!!".
I need to find it. I'm loving the browns, nudes, wines, reds...
I love them all. But, there is this one from OPI...
Espresso.  I'm in love!!!

10. Get some mums.
-I'd love to put some outside my door at my apartment but I did not inherit my mother's green thumb. So, I might kill them. But I think they would be so cute. So festive.
 Mama Noni, are you proud?

11. Open the windows and air my apartment out!!!!
-I CANNOT wait for this day to come! I absolutely love doing this. It's just been a little bit too warm so far or I've had other things happening the days it has been cool enough. But soon y'all.
D-40 is about to get slapped with some fresh air.

12. Respect the pumpkin.
-Flavor, that is. I'm not a fan. At all.
I want to like pumpkin(because of the amazing recipes on Pinterest) but I don't.
Maybe my taste buds will change.

Well, that's all I have on my mind right now...
There will be more.

Goodnight, y'all.

Lauren, 23, North Mississippi

I'm linking up today for Singles Day with Kelly's Korner Blog.

Hello bloggin' world!

I'd like you to meet someone very special to me.

My Best, Lauren Patton.

There is SOOOOO much I want to tell everyone about my best friend! There is NO possible way I can put it all in one blog. So, I'm just gonna hit the big stuff.

Okay!

A few things you need to know about this precious woman:

-She loves the Lord more than anything in the world. She reminds me daily of how a Godly woman is supposed to act and carry herself with dignity and self-respect.

-She is a 1st grade teacher! And she loves her little firsties! And they loveee her! This girl definitely has a huge heart for children. I admire her for that.

-She is the bargain shopper extraordinaire! Y'all, this girl finds THE BEST deals. I don't know how she does it.
(pretty sure this was a thrift store find. Sorry Elle Pea if its not.) :)
Just an example of how thrifty she is!

-She is the biggest Ole Miss fan you will EVER meet. You can win her over just by saying, "HOTTY TODDY!!!!". You better be able to hang with her and her love of OM. It's deep rooted but it is one of those things that makes her Lauren.

-She has a precious fur-baby named Harper. That dog runs the show. But, she's precious!

-She loves her friends. If you looked up the definition of a "good friend", Lauren Patton's picture would be right there. This girl has friends for days! (see my post about my afternoon with Miss Ole Miss.)
But really, she is a great friend. Can't express it enough.

-She is spontaneous. The girl has no plans. She just does. And for me, who must have a plan at all times, she definitely takes me out of my comfort zone. But, it's fun! She is so much fun! She LOVES life and it is very evident. She LOVES people and that too is very evident. And she LOVES the Lord and that is what stands out to me the most.

-She is a HUGE family person. She loves her family.
(Pictured: Her father, mother, and brother.)

-She is just so cute, all the time! Her style is pretty phenomenal. And I think she is gorgeous. Not only on the outside, but genuinely gorgeous on the inside.
She's really precious, y'all. And I am so blessed to call her my Best.

Of course I think my best friend is the bomb-diggity. I mean, she's my Best?!
But, I know her heart. We are in the same club-The Singles Club- and we talk about this stuff. She will make the best wife, mother, and best friend any man could ever ask for.
If you have questions or want to know more about my sweet friend, email me at: divalifeincollege@gmail.com or her at: lil_patton07@hotmail.com

Okay you single men.... Let me hear it!

Procrastination Penny.

Hello, my name is Procrastination Penny. And I have a test and 2 lesson plans due tomorrow....
And I decide to blog.

Typical Monday.

I have SOOOOO many blog topics I'd love to blog about so hopefully they'll motivate me to do better with this.

It's monday, my roommate and I are both sick, it's rainy outside...
I mean, I'm not loving today.

But, here is something I am loving...

Last night on my never-ending drive back to Columbus, I drove back late enough to listen to the Ryan Seacrest Top 20 show on XM or whatever.

And y'all, they played this song that made me cry.
Okay, sob would be a better word.

Girls, y'all know what I mean. It's so sweet your heart starts to hurt and then your eyes start to burn and then the tears come...

SO precious.

It's called "Finally Found You" by Enrique Iglesias.
Pretty sure it's brand-spanking new because I have never heard it until last night.

And PLEASE do not judge me for liking an Enrique song. :)
It's the chorus that really got me. The rest of it is just "eh".

"In this crazy world of choices I've only got a few
Either you're coming with me, or I'm coming with you
Cause I finally found, I finally found you
You never have to worry if what I say is true
Girl I've been looking for you
And when I saw you I knew
That I finally found, I finally found you"

I think it's pretty precious.
See for yourself!

Guys don't say stuff like this in real life.
But, it's nice to hear in a song.
I do believe the world would be a better place if men did say this sort of stuff, though.
I'm sure people disagree with that statement. Ha.

Happy Monday!

My afternoon with Miss Ole Miss.

Story-time with yours truly, The Diva.

Let me start by saying that I have the absolute BEST family and friends a girl could ask for. After a not-so-good start to my week (last week), my Best knew just what would cheer me up. LOVEEEEE her.

Okay, I have planned this blog out in my head, figuring out what I wanted to say about this particular afternoon and I giggle every time I think about it.
I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I have.

My afternoon with Miss Ole Miss
I think EVERYONE knows Lauren Patton's love of anything Ole Miss. And when I mean anything, I mean ANYTHING. She lives and breathes Ole Miss. Her kids first words will be "Hotty Toddy". Mark my words.
So, as a remedy to my broken heart, my Best does what any good friend would do and take me to football game. Logical.
I am so excited.
So, Saturday rolls around and I had work until 2. The game started at 6 so, I had to run home and get "Grove ready". Ha.
And my precious Best waited for me so we could ride together. She could have gone and Groved all day but she waited until 3:15 just so I wouldn't have to drive to Oxford alone. Love her.
We are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited at this point.
So, we leave Thaxton, start towards Oxford and then the most magical thing happens.

Lauren looks in the mirror to see that the team is behind us! Oh, y'all. She was
so excited. It went a little like...
"Caitlyn. THE TEAM IS BEHIND US." very dramatic and very excited.
And just like that, 3 HWY Patrol motorcycles, one OM bus, 3 charter buses, 2 more OM vans, 5+ SUV's, and 2 more HWY Patrol motorcycles pass us.
This was hyping us up something big for the game. Lauren Patton was about to come undone.
The girl has been to games her whole life and she still has that child-like excitement about it all. I wish I still had that in quite a few aspects in my life.
Any way, we are getting into Oxford and we pass the ref's.
That was equally a big deal.
From here on out, it's all a little bit of a blur.

We find a parking spot unusually close to The Grove and we had doubts butttt we parked there anyway. In a cross walk.

Andddd we are walking to The Grove.
And Lauren Patton morphs into a celebrity. I mean, y'all.
People formed around her like a mob. It was amazing. I mean, I know she's a big deal BUT I didn't know at this level. It was great.
It was "LAUREN PATTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
or
"Oh, my god is that Lauren Patton?!?"
I had so much fun just watching this.
My best friend is a celebrity in Oxford. (Maybe she can get me in with Matthew Mcconaughey this weekend. *wink*)
My words are not doing this experience justice.

So, we make it INTO The Grove and find more people who are in awe of Lauren's awesomeness.
We hang around The Grove for a little while and then start making our way to the stadium. I'm convinced Lauren Patton knows everyone.
We sit with Lauren's friend and old roommate Emily and her friend, Landon and had such a fun time! Gosh, so much fun. I've never had so much fun at a game.

We are leaving the stadium and all of a sudden, a student started a soul-stirring rendition of "Hotty Toddy" where Lauren Patton is left speechless. It was the epitome of epic. I think I saw a tear in LP's eye. THAT good.

So, we head back to The Grove to do some celebrating and socializing. We ran into sweet friends that we hadn't seen in ages and got to catch up.

We leave to start making our way to the car and up pops up Ole Miss Quarterback Bo Wallace. You would have thought it was Justin Bieber.
We begged for pictures and were left speechless by his cool and calm attitude.
We were starstruck.
Ah, fun times.

Again, Lauren had to say her good-bye's to all of her fans and we left to find our car.
Ha.
Couldn't find it.
Then, we finally did. I mean, now that I think about it, I'm sure one of Lauren's fans would have gave us a ride. Wish we would have thought about that.

We leave Ox and I get home a little before 1 a.m.
Y'all, I had such a good time. SOOOOOOOO much fun!

The whole time, I could only form a few short phrases.
Examples:
"He is so drunk."
"Oh, my gosh Lauren he is soooooo drunk."
*first down* "OLEEEEEEEEEEEEE MISS."
"Lauren, I think that girl is trying to get your attention."
"She is so cute."
"I love her Tory ensemble."
"OH MY GOSH her purse is Chanel."
"Did you see that girl's shoes?"
"I wish I would have went to Ole Miss instead of MUHell."
"Lauren, I really wish I would have gone here."
"I mean, this is a game. We don't want to see your make-out sessions."
"What just happened?"
"HOTTY TODDY!!!!"

Overall, the day was fantastic. I had such a good time. I've never had so much fun at an OM game.

I learned: My best friend is a celebrity.
Everyone in Oxford loves her.
September nights are the perfect temperature for a football game.
Quarterbacks are people too.

Here's some pictures to go along with my story...

I had such a good time.
Hope y'all enjoyed this as much as I did!
